First edition. Collects short stories and sketches, mostly quite genial in tone, that first appeared in THE CLARION, a socialist weekly in England established by Blatchford in 1891. He started out as a Labour politician, then became a rather important Fabian socialist journalist, and finally split with the left and became a Conservative who supported the country's role in World War I. Signed and dated "Xmas 1922" by an early owner on the front free endpaper. A bright, clean, very good copy. (#117469).
