Cracking to front hinge with exposed binding. Binding is shaky. Boards have moderate edge wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Soft crushing to spine ends. Light tanning to spine and edges. Scuffing to title to spine and front board. Book is slightly forward leaning.

Cousins on the title page. James Henry Sproull Cousins (1873-1956) Poet, playwright, theosophist and social activist, born in Belfast. A notable figure in the Irish Literary Revival he was an associate of James Joyce and W. B. Yeats. In 1915 he went to India, at the invitation of Annie Besant, were he spent the rest of his life engaged in education and social improvement. In his preface to this work, the author states that it summarizes a life-time of his thought, research and experience. The book presents 'Synthesis' as a complex interaction of intuition (implicit), emotion, cognition and action (explicit), in the structure of a fulfilled human life. With some annotations in pencil, otherwise a near fine copy of a scarce book without any damage, library stamps, inscriptions or other markings. Signed by Author(s).
