One small name on title page, else 138p text is crisp, yellowed, unmarked and not brittle. Color illustrated covers. Moderate wear to top and bottom of spine. The work, "the last-recorded novel, comprises studies of various types of racing fraternities, with scenic backgrounds in Sydney and the Blue Mountains." Miller/Macartney, p202. Nathaniel Gould was born in England and spent some ten years as a reporter in Australia in Brisbane, Sydney and Bathurst between 1884 and 1895.
