Soc. 54, 60-71), published in 1958, was Pat's first attempt at a genetic problem and was inspired by W. Feller's article in the Proceedings of the Second Berkeley Symposium. He quickly developed expertise in the area and, after a flurry of activity, produced the book The Statistical Processes of Evolutionary Theory in 1962" (C.C.
