Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First edition. Miscellaneous House Documents (87th Congress, 1st Session) bound in one volume. Thick octavo. With photographs and folding maps. Complete as issued in the original publisher's cloth. Ex-library with ink stamp (front free endpaper) and small spine numbers, else near fine with no other markings. Contains House documents from the end of the Eisenhower administration and beginning of the Kennedy administration, including two detailed reports that were pivotal to the completion of Eisenhower's Interstate Highway Program (which was then engaged in a battle for its life, as an additional $11.6 billion was needed to complete the Program on schedule, or scale it back.). Also included are early addresses by John F. Kennedy, and the important final report of the Boston National Historic Sites Commission, a detailed study of Boston's historic sites and buildings from the Colonial and Revolutionary periods. A nice copy, scarce in the trade.
