Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Sm8vo. ix, [2] 272pp, 2pp ads. First edition. Very good minus book, no dust jacket. Red cloth covered boards with Kipling's small round raised gilt logo in center of front board panel. Gilt lettering on spine. Upper external page edges are gilt. Boards are lightly soiled overall. Logo on front board panel is scuffed, showing some of the red cloth underneath. Spine is a bit faded. Upper edge at head of board spine is split and fraying; lower edge at tail of board spine is crimped and with small splits and fraying on corners. Small rub-through on fore-edge corner tips. External side and lower page edge are toned and with faint stains and minimal foxing. Inside front hinge is partially cracked but holding. Endpapers are foxed. Upper right corner of FFEP has loss of 3/4". Text pages are toned but clean. Text block is sound. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition descriptions.
