Minor wear rubbing at the extremities. Gilt vignette on cover. Title-page printed in green and black. Hinges solid, text block clean and tight throughout other than toning on the front endpapers (but not on the facing pastedowns). Color frontispiece and plates by Arthur Rackham with tissue guards. An exceptional copy.

End papers are toned with moderate streaking. Very light, sporadic foxing. Previous owner s gift inscription from 1920 on front fly leaf, otherwise unmarked. Plates are bright and colorful.
