First Down East Magazine. Edition by arrangement with the original publishers of the 1940 First Edition. Softcover book in very good condition with light shelf wear on the covers. All corners are bumped and the top corner of the back cover is creased. There is creased on the spine but the text block is tight. Endpapers illustrated with map of the Georges River and Sterlingtown( Incorporated as Union 1780)The bottom edges have a small area with soiling. Otherwise, pages are clean, smooth and unmarked. Historical fiction centered in the town of Union, Maine. The author was an American novelist and short story writer for the Saturday Evening Post.
