"Active," in this instance, appears to be a euphemism for huntin' and fishin' and (especially) shootin': the heroine's coming-of-age has something to do with killing a whole lotta birds. (1943). 1st edition, stated.  329pp. Hardcover with dust jacket.  Green boardsvery lighlty mottled, silver bright on spine strip, and a few  bits of dust jacket stuck to rear board. Page edges soiled. Internally, end pages age-toned, with 2 previous owners names and addresses inked to 1st free end-page, but otherwise pages clean. The dust jacket is in fair condition, still in one piece but soiled and shelfworn, with much wear (and tears) to all edges and folds. It is not price clipped.
