A Soviet Union propaganda poster printed by the State Publishing House the various types of feeds available for cows besides hay. The poster describes a 'feed unit', which refers to the nutritional strength of one pound of a force-feed fodder, which is normal a mixture of oatmeal, bran and corn, and is the supposed ideal feed for cows. The poster then details how various other vegetables, such as potatoes and turnips, compare to this ideal feed unit. Additionally the poster provides information how to calculate how much of these alternative feed sources would be needed to replicate the nutritional strength of one feed unit. This information is surrounded by a decorative border that at the top features an image of a cow's head surround by sun flowers and foliage. Mounted on linen. In Russian. Measures 39" x 23" Toned and soiled due to age. Paper is separated from linen backing at edges.
