Little pushing/rubbing to head and tail of spine and minor pushing to a couple of corners. Binding is a little pulled near front (but book is not in danger of falling apart). Rough cut page edges. Odd page remains uncut. End-papers little browned. Few spots of foxing to page edges and small tears/loss to a few page edges. Odd mark to pages. No other faults. All in all a quite nice copy. The covers are tight, clean and straight, with slight wear to corners and spine ends.Quite clean end papers. Gilt top cut edge; the tail and fore edges are a little tanned. The text block is tightly bound and square and unmarked - very good plus - with brown ribbon marker. No dedications etc. Believed to have been issued without jacket.

This is a a Third Impression but was printed in the same year and month as the First Impression. There is a neat owner's name to the title page. The book is in good condition. The binding is straight and tight and the lettering on the spine quite bright. There is wear to the front board, a crease mark to the bottom corner of the front board, wear to the edges of the spine, slight shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine and marks to the back board. The toned and foxed end papers and pages are free from tears and inscriptions. The top edge retains its original gold tint. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.

Decorative Cloth. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. The 1912 1st edition, preceding the British edition by 1 year. Tight and VG+ in its dark cloth, with bright gilt-titling and blindstamping along the front panel. And in a perfectly serviceable, price-intact, VG dustjacket, with light creasing and wear along the spine ends, light soiling to the panels (including spotting at the spine) and several tiny closed tears to the edges.
