Add to basketDouble-sided advertising piece in the form of a wall map with wooden rods top and bottom. Printed on a medium which most closely resembles linen-based wallpaper, with the recto being the smooth side and the verso being textured. The recto is brightly colored. It is divided into two sections, with the top half being a map of the world showing the geographic sources of the various oils (coconut, palm, olive, cottonseed) and other ingredients which go into the manufacture of soap. The bottom half of the recto has four boxes which show steps in the manufacture of toilet soap and laundry soap. The colored verso is also divided into two sections, with the top half demonstrating various major textile fibers (wool, silk, rayon, linen, and cotton), with their characteristics. The bottom half contains "Safe Directions for Washing Delicate Fabrics", with care instructions for the types of fabric detailed above. This was among the last items issued by Colgate & Co. before they were purchased by Palmolive in 1928. This is also a relatively early depiction of rayon, which was first named and marketed as such only in 1924.
