Unbound. Condition: Very Good. 20 manuscript, mimeographed or printed sheets and note cards measuring from 2" x 3.5" to 11" x 8.5". Generally about very good with remnants of glue and other evidence of scrapbook removal. A collection of 1950s student council and cheerleader campaign ephemera from San Jacinto High School in Houston, Texas, the campus is now a part of Houston Community College. The DIY nature of the handbills and flyers includes various media handwritten, mimeographed, rubberstamped, and offset printed, with occasional added elements: a bedazzled sequin "V" in "Vickie for Veep"; a small heel-shaped cardboard element on a card: "Don't be a heel vote for Diane for Pres. of the S.C.", and a cartoon of a cat affixed to "Be a Hep Cat - Vote Kay." Ultimately ephemeral, but charming example of mid-1950s Texas high school life.
