The book overall is in reasonably good condition considering its age and use. Normal wear and marks apply consistent with use and age. Spine, cloth binding at the base has worn and come away, please see photo, it could be repaired, reasonably easily if required. Corners of boards bend inwards and do have wear. Ex library book, with Stockport Public Library stamp on title page. All pages, text and stunning illustrations are in really good, clean readable order. No jacket. There are twenty fabulous illustrations, all on the right hand side page of the book, and each page is a chocolate brown colour, with the illustration taking up over half the page, please see photos. Each humorous illustrations is a wonderful sketch, on a lighter tan coloured paper, titled and has a copy of the artist's signature. Each and every illustrations is of the artist's dog's Mickey, the Irish Wolfhound, and Cracker, the English Bull Terrier, who share different positions on a sofa, presumably in the artist's studio. Overall this wonderful book is in really ok condition and should be cherished and preserved for future generations. This is a book by a true genius of an artist, a man who absolutely loved his dogs and his craft, had a talent for bringing humour into his work.

Jock Harper, and that Cracker was Aldin's dog.This work features illustrations of Cracker, a bull terrier, and Mickey, an Irish wolfhound, resting together. The two dogs were Aldin's favourite models, and featured in many of his works.Illustrated with twenty colour plates by Aldin.
