Trace foxing on the top edge of the text block. There is minor soiling near the fore edges of the boards. A very good copy lacking the glassine dust wrapper.

The first book from this acclaimed poet and writer who won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize award, was the Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress and won numerous other awards. A clean near fine copy in red cloth boards and in a supplied acetate dust jacket. Signed by Strand on the title page. A very nice copy of this debut collection of poems.

Very Good with slightly soiled cloth, rubbed gilt, and slight cigar odor. In original acetate wraps, slightly irregularly trimmed along top edge and thoroughly wrinkled, but still quite rare thus. The poet's first book.

Apparently issued with a glassine, but not on any of the dozen or so copies we have seen. This copy has a mylar cover on it, but we don't believe it to be original. Sunning to the spine with just a touch of rubbing to the gilt lettering which is clear; contents bright and fresh. Near Fine.

The Pulitzer Prize winner's first collection; ten of the poems first included here are reprinted in his "Selected Poems" (1980).
