Green Cloth. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Second Edition (Ist, 1895). Green Cloth. Good/No Jacket. Second Edition (Ist, 1895). Hardback. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 108 pages, plus book ads; 2 p. index; illustrated with 27 Fig.s (photos and line drawings); from the author's Preface: "It (this book) was written to bring about the more general adoption of Skiascopy as an essential part of the examination for ametropia. .The demonstrations and decriptions here given assume a general knowledge of the eye and of physiological optics." It is further claimed that Skiascopy is an objective test, most accurate, saves time, is cheap, shows refraction in each particular part of the pupil as it is revealed by no other test, and is regarded as a research potential for this reason. Book condition: Owner's name, in ink, is inside the front cover; book edges have darkened somewhat, to a light-tan color; three of the cover corners show some board, but are not noticeably bent; spine ends have lost some cloth (circa 1/8 inch), more noticeably the top end--and there is scattered loss of the cover cloth on the front cover extreme top edge, adjacent the spine; otherwise, book is rather sturdy and in quite nice condition "for its age.".
