To say that Anne Noggle is the only retired pilot who has ever taken a picture of herself showing the scars of a recent face-lift is to give some idea of how unusual both her career and the nature of her work have been. Noggle's self-portraits are a ruthless part of what she refers to as her "saga of the fallen flesh" -- a continuous documentation of the way people grow older. But Noggle cannot be pigeonholed as a documentary photographer. She is an expressionist with a constantly growing vision.
