It is regarded as one of the artist's most personal and introspective graphic series. * The series includes references to many people who played an important role in Rauschenberg's life, including Jasper Johns, Cy Twombly, Merce Cunningham, John Cage, Ileana Sonnabend, Tatyana Grosman, as well as members of his own family. * The center of this work is based on a photograph taken by Robert Rauschenberg shortly after he and his friend Cy Twombly arrived in Rome in the autumn of 1952.
