Serjeantson, who authored a number of books on church histories in the late 1890s to the 1930s this small hardback notebook is not dated but most likely dates to the early part of the last century, and contains notes on Acton Burnell, The Manor of Acton Burnell, quite extensive notes on the history of Langley Chapel, the Chapel of Acton Pigott, and Ruckley in Shropshire the book measures just under 6.5 inches tall, the author has numbered the fully used pages to 38, but there are also handwritten notes to a further 16 pages, some of those fill the whole page as well in good condition.

Published in Shrewsbury in 1837, this is a generally nice example of this account of the county of Shropshire by Charles Hulbert, bound in an old half leather binding, 11 inches tall approx., 364 pages plus a further 38 pages of supplementary material including an account of a fire at the authors home, the binding has general rubbing wear, there is some cracking along upper leather joint, but cover still well attached, internally minor loss to one plain page corner, noticeable heavy foxing to a number of pages, especially the plates, though the greater part of the contents are generally clean.

The title page is heavily browned along inner and outer edges (see pictures) noticeable foxing to a few pages, an inked number notation to one plain page margin, foxing to some page edges, page edges untrimmed else in good acceptable condition.
