Published in hardcover in the UK in 1968, the paperback edition was issued in conjunction with the Lee Marvin/Roger Moore/Barbara Perkins movie based on the novel, and Marvin, Moore and Perkins are featured in the art work on the front cover. The wrappers show light reading creases on the spine, o/w no tears, no chipping or bumping, very minimal surface or edge wear. The text is slightly age-tanned, o/w clean and unmarked, tight, with very slight spine lean. Collectable.

Loosely based on historical fact the film focuses on the search for and sinking of a German warship off the east coast of Africa. A vv good book approaching near fine in vg dust jacket. The binding is tight and straight, the boards clean and bright without issue. Gilt lettering is clear and bright. The endpapers and pages are clean without tears, marks or inscriptions . Page edges and end papers are mildly toned. The clipped jacket has retained its colouring well. There is a middle insert entitled, "Press Supplement". Also included - two different color advertising folders from the studio - one states "tentative title". Size: Folio - over 12" - 15" tall.
