Wraps. Condition: Very Good. N.d., circa 1910. Oblong, 26 by 34.5 cm. 31 pp. Several color plates, including one depicting the company's handsome packaging, an illustration of its plant (the combination of horse-drawn carriage and early automobiles was relied upon for dating), and brush handles here and there rendered in crimson, gold and brass. Two pages of photos of the company's executives, followed by mostly plates showing five brushes per page. The final plate shows packaging and store display boxes. The Simms Company was formed in 1866 in Maine and was enticed to relocate to New Brunswick shortly afterward. The company is still in business. Also helping date the catalogue is that the founder's son, still young based on his photo, was the head of the company at the time, having taken over in 1908. The catalogue is most attractive, with all the pages featuring ruled or decorative borders. Light wear. Light foxing on title leaf edges.
