This Bakst helped him to achieve in the twelve productions which he designed for hirn. They were recognised as a major artistic revolution in twentieth-century art. Bakst, with Fokine as choreographer, collaborated in this new revol utionary art with Debussy, Ravel and Stravinsky and exultantly reinterpreted the works of Rimsky, Balakirev and Tchaikovsky. Bakst gave a new vision of the age and style of ancient Egypt, the Orient, classical Greece, the Romantic period and the golden age of the Grand Siecle in the ballet La Belle au Bois Dormant which was his swan song. In praising Bakst's outstanding artistic contribution one must not forget the other Russian designers, Benois, Roerich, Golovine. Korovine.
