    iv, 5-222, [1- Contents], [1 blank] pp. Spotting, a few pencil scrawls, one small hole affecting several letters on page 120, two leaves bound out of order. Bound in moderately worn original sheep [binding intact] with gilt-lettered black morocco spine label. Contemporary signature, "Nathan Allen | his Book." Good plus. According to Wikipedia, "Ewing was the primary founder of the Cumberland Presbyterian Denomination on February 4, 1810. . . Ewing became one of the leading ministers in the Second Great Awakening or Great Revival that took place on the American frontier in the early 19th century. . . Ewing was among several Protestant ministers who in 1831 helped to inspire the mobs that drove the Mormons from Jackson County, Missouri.
