Hard. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. Worn covers, but clean pages and intact binding save for one loose page of ads at rear. (There may have been more ads or endpapers, cannot tell). Corners of cardboard boards are bent. This attractive volume of choral music qualifies as vintage shabby chic. Songs are for 3 or four parts. ; Oblong 8vo 8" to 9" tall.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Oblong 6 3/4 x 9 3/4, cloth spine with printed orange paper over card, soldier standing guard as a sentinel. Binding shows shelf-wear. Advert end papers, marbled page edges. 160 pp., some with short tear in top margin. A collection of hymns and songs for home, school, and church. Titles as varied as The Lord's Prayer and Peter Peter Pumpkin-Eater. Music in four parts, round notes.Charles Eddy Leslie (1845-1893). d. Chicago, Illinois. Leslie was a musical conductor, composer, author, and music book publisher. His firm was in Chicago; he lived in the town of Cottage Grove, Dane Co., Wisconsin. He travelled extensively, "organizing musical conventions and appearing in Chautauqua and other work. He was a Thirty-third degree Mason, and honor wich is conferred on few men.Mr. Leslie organized the Kansas state jubilee at Lawrence, Kas., in which 6,000 singers participated." - Wisconsin State Journal, Jan. 15, 1926 obituary for his wife, Allie B. Leslie.
