Scrutiny, a quarterly literary journal, was one of the most influential literary periodicals of the mid-twentieth century, and its editors, especially F R Leavis, gained considerable prestige from it. Wikipedia notes that "its most important achievement was a nearly complete revaluation of English literature".In 1968 Cambridge University Press issued a two volume 'selection, edited by F R Leavis. This paperback set is in good condition with some rubbing to spine and discolouration, a previous owner's name tippexed out and a small pen initials and date added to flyleaf.
