About the book >.>.> There were two critical periods in my formation: the first was my schooling at the University of Tucuman, which was extraordinary, with great intellectual effervescence. At Illinois, there was no comparison. I was much better prepared than anyone there. I had a solid understanding of the principles of the Modern movement and I knew how to use theoretical constructs to design with-that's perhaps why my professor was impressed with me and recommended me to his friend John Dinkeloo, who offered me a job with Saarinen. Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 9 X 12 1/8 Inches. 256 PP. First printing of this conversational autobiography and photographic history of the architectural mastery of Cesar Pelli. Signed and inscibed by Myra Janco Daniels on the half title-page. Accompanied by a (signed) TLS from Pelli to Daniels. Hint of wear to DJ edges. Myra Janco Daniels (1925-2022), founder and CEO of the Naples Philharmonic Center for the Arts. Myra was also 1965 Advertising Woman of the Year and wife of Draper Daniels, the adman who created "The Marlboro Man" and who was the basis for "Don Draper" on AMC's Madmen TV show. At the age of 25, Myra started her own advertising business in Terre Haute, Indiana which was later purchased by Draper Daniels. She was a longtime collaborator of Draper's and together the couple achieved amazing success in the world of advertising in the mid-20th Century. In retirement, Myra founded the Naples Philharmonic Center and created a world class art museum which she led for over 20 years. Giving a slight nod to Charles Lindbergh, the Pulitzer Prize-Winning author A. Scott Berg once dubbed Myra "The Spirit of Naples.". Signed.
