A few notes by Rosen in red ink at top of front flyleaf, else Near Fine, in near fine dust jacket. 'My sincere thanks to my teachers, Stanley Rosen and Thomas Seebohm, for philosophical training and inspiration' (Preface, p. xii). Rosen is cited on p. 190 and his Nihilism: a Philosophical Essay (1969) and The Limits of Analysis (1980) are given in the bibliography. The inscription presumably refers to Rosen's efforts to have Yale, publisher of most of his own books, publish White's. Signed by Author(s).
