Buona legatura moderna in piena pelle rossa, con titoli in oro al dorso a sei scomparti. Tagli in oro e fogli di guardia marmorizzati. Dentellatura in oro alle unghie. Ricco frontespizio calcografico, con quattro putti a sorreggere lo specchio con il titolo, da bozzetto di Matteo Rosselli. Oltre al frontespizio, l'Opera è adorna di 40 incisioni a bulino su rame, in gran parte opera di Jacques Callot, che le realizzò durante il suo soggiorno fiorentino, su disegni di vari artisti: 19 sono dello stesso Rosselli, quattro di Antonio Tempesta, sei di Donato Arsenio Mascagni, due di Antonio dalle Pomarance, uno di Fabrizio Boschi ed uno di Jean Bilivert, mentre otto non presentano alcuna firma. Diciotto di tali tavole hanno il verso bianco, e tutte riportano in basso a destra il numero del capitolo di riferimento. Minimi, vecchi restauri cartacei al piede di alcune tavole, senza alcuna perdita di testo. Capilettera e cartigli decorativi. Margini accettabili e fresca impressione, in condizioni di conservazione inusuali. Assai rara edizione originale di un'opera, dedicata a Cristina di Lorena, figlia di Carlo III e vedova del Granduca di Toscana Ferdinando dei Medici, che si propone di descrivere i miracoli attribuiti alla intercessione dell'immagine mariana del XIII secolo conservata presso la Chiesa dell'Annunziata in Firenze. Ne è autore l'oratore servita Giovanni Angelo Lottini (Firenze, 1549-1629), che fu anche poeta e si dilettò di scultura. Allievo di Angelo Maria Montorsoli, che fu poi Custode Generale dell'Ordine dei Servi di Maria, lasciò alcuni manoscritti inediti e svariati testi pubblicati, tra cui sono da ricordare, oltre al presente testo, una "Orazione funebre. in morte della Ser.ma Giovanna d'Austria, Granduchessa di Toscana" (Firenze, Marescotti, 1578); "Esposizione della canzone del Petrarca: Vergine bella, etc." (Venezia, De Franceschi, 1595); "La Niobe, Tragedia" (Venezia, 1595); oltre a dodici sacre rappresentazioni in versi. Lo straordinario apparato iconografico si deve alle cure di Jacques Callot (Nancy, 1592-1635), e di un gruppo di artisti fiorentini, Antonio Tempesta (Firenze,1555-1630), Matteo Rosselli (Firenze, 1578-1650), Donato Arsenio Mascagni (Firenze, 1579-1637), Antonio Circignano (Pomarance, 1560-1620), Fabrizio Boschi (Firenze, 1572-1642) e Giovanni Bilivert (Firenze, 1585-1644). Seconda opera: In Firenze, per Domenico Ambrogio Verdi, 1727, pp. xiv-66-[2]. Bella legatura ottocentesca in pieno marocchino rosso decorato a secco e in oro, unghiature e dentelles dorate, tagli dorati. Qualche macchietta e abrasione alla legatura, qualche pallida macchia e altre trascurabili tracce del tempo alla prima opera, ma nel complesso esemplare molto buono riccamente illustrato da una galleria di tavole, che riproducono un affresco e 39 quadri conservati nella SS. Nunziata di Firenze, incise da Jacques Callot e sottoscritte da Matteo Rosselli, Arsenio Mascagni, Antonio Pomarancio (Circignani), Fabrizio Boschi, Giovanni Bilivert, Antonio Tempestini (Tempesta).
