The first four volumes were published by George Allen & Unwin, the next four by Unwin Hyman, and the last four by Harpercollins. These were published from 1983 to 1996. Generally lovely condition, there is some sun fading to the jacket spines, most noticeably on volume 9, volume 2 has some marks to the inside of the jacket, some jackets with a little wear to spine ends or extremities, overall very tidy. Clean and bright books, square, firm bindings, generally sharp corners, clean pages, some light age toning to pages, more noticeable to the last two volumes, volume one has some very minor spots to the edge of the page block. No inscriptions. Very good condition, a consistent set with equal wear. Vol 1,3,5,6,7,8,10 are priced to the jacket flap, vol 2,4,11,12 with no price, vol 9 is price clipped.
