This is a promotional program for Sadler's Wells Ballet for the 1950-1951 "Coast-to-Coast Tour" in the United States and Canada. The following are some of the contents: "The Wrong Side of the River ." (article by Ninette de Valois about her early days working with Sadler's Wells Theatre); brief information about the Sadler's Wells Ballet company; "Who's Who" section with brief biographical notes about some of the company's dancers; stills from productions (some of which have synopses) such as Dante Sonata, Les Patineurs, Don Quixote, Les Lac de Cygnes (Swan Lake), Checkmate, The Sleeping Beauty, Facade, A Wedding Bouquet, and Giselle; and black-and-white photographic portrait illustrations of Margot Fonteyn, Ninette de Valois, David L. Webster, Frederick Ashton, Robert Helpmann, Moira Shearer, Pamela May, Beryl Grey, Violetta Elvin, Alexis Rassine, and Michael Somes. Some of the advertised products and businesses: Elizabeth Arden, Jaguar, Chanel, Hockanum, Evyan, British Royal Airways, Emba Silverblu Mutation Mink Coat, and "L'Origan" line of beauty products by Coty. The Sadler's Wells Ballet, also known as Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet, was a small ballet company hosted by the Sadler's Wells Theatre, a historical theater in London dating back to the 1680s. The Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet began showing at Sadler's Wells in 1946, but it is unclear how long the ballet company was associated with Sadler's Wells Theatre or how long the company was in business. The company appears to have been directly associated with (or perhaps the one and the same as) Ninette de Valois's Sadler's Wells Ballet School.
