PROVENANCE: 204 Works Section, Royal Engineers (Unit Stamp dated 8 Mar 1944). DESCRIPTION: Two Royal Engineers field manuals bound as single volume. The first is the Reconnaissance Pocket Book, War Office 1944, providing operational guidance for field engineers in WWII. The second is Supplementary Pocket Book No. 6: Water Supply, War Office 1946, detailing practical water supply techniques for field operations. The front board bears a clear unit stamp "204 WKS SEC R.E. 8 Mar 1944 File No" suggesting 'issued' provenance, probably linking the book to an active Royal Engineers workshop/unit during WWII Language: English Book Condition: Very Good. Light wear to corners, edges and spine ends'. 15/25' annotated to front board. First page lower hole to page torn. Clean unmarked. DJ Condition: No DJ. Pages 161, 115. Size: 17 cm by 11 cm. PROVENANCE BACKGROUND: 204 Works Section was a specialized unit of the Royal Engineers. Works Sections were responsible for the technical management of infrastructure, including building, electricity, and water supply. The March 1944 stamp suggests this volume was issued during the final staging for the invasion of Europe.
