Plum colored linen weave cloth boards have gilt lettering on spine.The cloth is clean. Bumped corners and spine ends are lightly rubbed. Hinges are intact and binding is tight. Pages are toned but clean, but for the 1931 gift inscription on the ffep and owner name on the pastedown ep. Biblical quotes are from "The New Testament, A New Translation" by James Moffatt. Poling, 1884-1968, was chairman and editor-in-chief of the Christian Herald Magazine. He wrote 22 books and hundreds of book reviews. He was the minister of Grace Baptist Church at Temple University in Philadelphi a. During WWI he was a chaplain and in WWII was in the Chaplains Reserve and was elected president of the Military Chaplains Association.

Daniel Alfred Poling [1884-1968] was an American clergyman who Norman Vincent Peale called "one of the greatest servants of Jesus Christ in this age or any other. This title is a narrative recreating the life of Jesus, based on the Biblical account and enriched by the imagination of the author. This book was originally published as "Between Two Worlds' in 1931. Sebastian "Stan" Spering Kresge [1867-1966] was an American businessman. He created and owned two chains of department stores, the S. S. Kresge Company, one of the 20th century's largest discount retail organizations, and the Kresge-Newark traditional department store chain. The discounter was renamed the Kmart Corporation in 1977.
