Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. ".upon the Application to The Court of King's Bench for Leave to File an Information Against Mr. Ralph Dodd, upon the Statute of 6 Geo. 1. CAP.18.". 106 pp, bound in 3/4 leather. Armorial bookplate of George Chetwynd ("Quod Deus Vult Fiet"), title page shows a barely visible blind stamp "Glendon Hall". The substance of these records of Court Proceedings are certain misdemeanors , as alleged by the Crown, by Ralph Dodd, relating to the issue of a Prospectus for the establishment of a distillery, The London Distillery Company. The issue seems to be as to whether it is against the public interest for the shares and stocks to be issued, no similar case having been brought since 1362 (sic). Ralph Dodd (1782-1822), entrepreneur, involving the first tunnels under the Thames and Tyne. Co-patentee with George Stephenson on early steam locomotives. V scarce.
