There is a prize label laid down inside the front cover with a date of July 1909m while the Hathi Digital Library and the National Library of Scotland moot a date of 1902. 8vo (7.5 x 5 ins); pp [xviii], 338, [2] Publisher's original pictorial boards and spine with a gold circular device stamped onto lower board indicating this a prize awarded by the London County Council, further mentioned on the bookplate, dated 1909 and issued by St Luke's Girls School. Coloured frontispiece, with tissue-guard, illustrated titlepage and numerous other illustrations by Charles Robinson, many full page. All edges gilt. A lovely copy of this little-seen collection of fairy stories, including Thumberline, Rumpel-Stilts-Ken, Hansel and Gretel, The Goose-Girl, The Elf-Hill, Dolly draw the Cake, amd Queen Mab. Book.
