Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Hardback. 8vo.pp. 334. Autobiography. Memoir, melding family history, and army career, musings and poetry. Includes a collection of amusing anecdotes and witticisms by well known people, such as Mae West, Diana Cooper, Margaret Thatcher, Churchill and Tommy Steele. Military humour: "Army Tea Ğ a liquid capable of stripping the outer layers of copper from a lavatory system or dissolving the small intestine of an ox." Black and white photographs illustrate the text. Privately published in British Racing Green, lettered gilt. Very good indeed.
