Williams, was the editor of the Los Angeles Times from 1958 to 1971. He was also a science-fiction writer. he was editor when the LA Times began its transformation from a partisan, provincial newspaper to a journal of national standing at the same time, Robert Erburu was President of Times Mirror gROUP, which owned the LA Times in 1974, chief executive in 1980 and chairman in 1986. Slight bumping to fore edge of rear cover. Gift inscription to blank front free-endpaper. Otherwise, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked.
