Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages slightly loose. Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Heavier to endpapers and pastedowns. Ink staining to text block edges. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Staining to both boards.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Undated Strahan edition [1881]. Illustrated by F. A. Fraser. Original brown cloth, elaborately lettered and decorated in gilt; brown endpapers. Corners rubbed, canceled prize plate on front free endpaper, signature on half-title, foxing spots, good. Book.
