This is Snyder's second book of prose, collected talks and interviews--philosophy, too. Near fine in blue cloth with a few spots to the top face of the text block. In a very good or better jacket with a little curl to its top front edge (which won't show under mylar), a touch of creasing to spine ends, and a small price sticker on the lower right of the rear panel.…

With her marginal lines and exes (x) clustered in a few pieces. Suzi Gablik (see her Guardian obit)was "an artist and pioneering writer on art who argued from the mid-1980s that the arts needed to turn away from modernism and recognise again the ecological and social function of art. Her writing had a profound impact on the evolution of a vast array of artists, arts collectives, thinkers and ecological activists." She is best known for her bookHas Modernism Failed (1984) and for her 1995 bookConversations Before the End of Timewhich investigated ecological themes in art via interviews with other artists (Gary Snyder is mentioned in the book, but not interviewed). A near fine book with one minor bump to lower right front corner. A nice association among ecological thinkers, and no doubt Gablik was thinking about the genre of the interview and its possibilities as she encountered this book.…

Kitkitdizze is Snyder's homestead in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada (it's the Miwok name for a low evergreen shrub in the rose family found on the Western side of the Sierras, also known as mountain misery or bear clover), which makes this an attractive copy. This is Snyder's second book of prose, collected talks and interviews--philosophy, too. John Wright isn't readily pinned down, but there is a John Wright who conducted interviews with poets Edward Dorn and Norman Fischer, both of which mention Gary Snyder, so he was probably in the scene. Very good in blue-green cloth with sunning to board edges, namely the top edges, and to spine ends. In a near fine jacket with a little toning to edges and very light creasing to spine crown. Again, inscribed at Snyder's home. Signed.…
