Hardcover. Oblong black boards with gilt illustrations, green cloth spine and corners. 82 unnumbered pp. Many BW illustrations. Despite its condition, this is still a beautiful instructional book on the dying art of penmanship. This book describes in detail how to write in cursive, as well as how to draw some figures, especially animals, with the knowledge of the proper strokes. Definitely an excellent addition to the collection of anyone interested in penmanship. Poor. Significant shelf wear, rubbing, and markings all over covers. Portion of upper- to mid-spine missing. First three leaves completely detached from binding, other pages loose but attached. Minor foxing throughout; many spots of soiling and stains, including on endpapers; tanning along some page edges. Few pencil marks in text and owners' names/initials on front free end paper.
