Hardcover. Illustration by Larry Toschik. 8vo. Tan cloth with brown lettering and decoration. 180pp. Frontispiece. Very good. Faint edgewear, with endpapers lightly age toned; jacket rear flap with author bio neatly tipped to rear flyleaf. A tight and nice first edition of this young adult yarn set in the Washington Territory, boldly signed and inscribed by the author in blue ballpoint on front flyleaf, apparently to a relative: "To Millie Frazier -- this is / a true story of the early / days of our state. Hope / you enjoy it. / Affectionately / Neta and Ben / Neta Lohnes Frazier." Frazier (1890-1990) penned a handful of children's tales set in the Pacific Northwest.
