    First Edition. This copy has a terrific full page signed inscription from actress Karen Black who co-starred in the 1976 film directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Inscribed: ÒAlfred Hitchcock made this book into a film called ÔFamily Plot.Õ I was offered the part of Fran in the movie but truth was , I really wanted the other more humorous role. At last, after being on the set a few weeks I said, ÔYou know, Mr. Hitchcock, I really would have preferred the part of Blanche.Õ ÒOh no, much too low brow for you!Ó He replied. I guess he had never seen ÔFive Easy Pieces.Õ Karen Black.Ó Ms. BlackÕs mention of ÒFive Easy PiecesÓ is a humourous reference to her role as a low class waitress opposite Jack Nicholson, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. Very good in a very good dust jacket with a few small stains, a few creases, and some edge wear. Karen Black is among AmericaÕs most accomplished actors, an Academy Award nominee, a Golden Globe winner, and has received many other awards for her performances. Three of her films have been chosen by the Library of Congress for the National Film Registry declaring them national treasures. Among her films are Five Easy Pieces, Easy Rider, Nashville, The Day of the Locust, The Great Gatsby, Burnt Offerings, PortnoyÕs Complaint, etc.
