First Edition. This copy has a terrific full page signed inscription from actress Karen Black who co-starred in the 1976 film directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Inscribed: ÒAlfred Hitchcock made this book into a film called ÔFamily Plot.Õ I was offered the part of Fran in the movie but truth was , I really wanted the other more humorous role. At last, after being on the set a few weeks I said, ÔYou know, Mr. Hitchcock, I really would have preferred the part of Blanche.Õ ÒOh no, much too low brow for you!Ó He replied. I guess he had never seen ÔFive Easy Pieces.Õ Karen Black.Ó Ms. BlackÕs mention of ÒFive Easy PiecesÓ is a humourous reference to her role as a low class waitress opposite Jack Nicholson, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award. Very good in a very good dust jacket with a few small stains, a few creases, and some edge wear. Karen Black is among AmericaÕs most accomplished actors, an Academy Award nominee, a Golden Globe winner, and has received many other awards for her performances.
