Oblong 8vo (20,2 x 30,2 cm), leporello, publisher's printed white wrappers, publisher's slipcase. First edition. 5 original paintings by Niele Toroni. From the edition limited to 150 copies on BFK Rives paper (including 42 hors-commerce copies), numbered and signed by the artist. Co-founder of the BMPT group, Niele Toroni remains true to the same modus operandi elaborated in his early days. His work method literally defines what it is given to be seen: paint doesn't deliver any message, any psychological interpretation or iconography, it is nothing other than what it materially is. His art flows from a fundamental questioning of paint as a medium, in an attempt to establish its autonomy and free it from all representation. The relationship with the surrounding space and the viewer's gaze is crucial, enabling the work to evolve endlessly. Provenance : Paul Destribats. A condition report and additional images are available on request.
