xxii, 568 pages. Hardcover: H 23.5cm x L 16cm. No dust jacket. Red cloth lightly rubbed, light bumping at spine ends with some fraying at heel. Boldly written green ink signature of "R. Boyer" on front free endpaper; some soiling and glue residue on rear endpapers. Interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. A very good copy. Although unmarked as such, this book was acquired from the estate of Dr. Russell Aubrey Stokes (1922-2014) who earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics in 1963 from UT-Austin under the tutelage of Hubert Stanley Wall. Stokes taught math for many years at the University of Mississippi where he established the department's doctoral program and was appointed professor emeritus. Co-developer of the Boyer-Moore string search algorithm, computer scientist Robert S. Boyer also matriculated at U.T. but, as I have not found an example of his handwriting, I will let the purchaser make an attribution to the ffep signature.
