A printed program detailed a set of readings given by students at the Barre Academy of Barre, Vermont in 1864. Includes twenty-four readings in total, punctuated by several musical interludes. Topics chosen by the students to showcase their rhetorical skills include poetry, agriculture, government, "Orators of the Revolution", and the "Power of Habit". Each student is named with their hometown; each appear native to New England with the exception of one from Calcutta, India. Printed bifolium (7.5" by 5"). Very good. Letter folds, minor dust soiling to outside.
