Writing skills also are re-quired to varying degrees in different jobs. Further, written expres-sion is a vehicle for sharing feelings and thoughts with others. Thus, the importance of written expression cannot be overemphasized. Until recently, however, this area has received relatively little atten-tion from educators and psychologists compared with other academic areas such as reading and mathematics.
