Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. This is "Practical Mechanical Problems and How to Solve Them" by Lawrence A. Barrett, being Little Blue Book 1324. It is a WWII Wartime reprint published by Haldeman - Julius circa 1943. The single staple informs us that this was a book produced during wartime restrictions on paper. Unusual for Little Blue Books, this title has several line drawings too illustrate some of the problems and solutions discussed. SERIES : Little Blue Books ( No. 1324 ) TITLE : Practical Mechanical Problems and How to Solve Them AUTHOR : Lawrence A. Barrett IMPRINT : Haldeman-Julius PLACE : Girard, Kansas DATE : [circa 1943 ] EDITION : Wartime Reprint STATUS : OP - Out of Print PHYSICAL DETAILS : Petite Paperback; 64 pages (pagination includes title page); approximately 3 3/8" x 5"; printed gray-blue a colored wraps, stapled (paper covers with 1 staple, and a small Union label on the rear cover). The single staple is a clue that the book was issued during the Second World War. Interesting to see some remains of the original blue color, which on the great majority of specimens, has pretty much faded away completely. CONDITION - This is a previously owned book which remains clean and presentable, with the following particulars noted : Pocket Series and Little Blue Books were issued using inexpensive materials and thus are almost always found with toned and faded paper. Other small defects such as slightly chipped corners, printer's smudges, and such are common. Any flaws beyond the normal for these will be detailed. Little Blue Books often did not have blue covers - or the blue has faded to gray. Please remember that vintage paper items are more fragile than their modern counterparts, and thus require proper care in handling. THIS COPY -- VERY GOOD -- The cover still has some of the blue coloration, else is faded and slightly weathered about the edges; there is a shallow vertical crease on the front cover (not visible in our pictures); interior paper is toned, else clean and free of marking. Binding is solid.
