Blattgröße: 350 x 215 mm. *Michael Alberti wurde in Nürnberg als Sohn eines Pfarrers geboren und schlug zunächst ebenfalls die Laufbahn eines Theologen ein. Sein Interesse an der Medizin zog ihn nach Halle wo er als Schüler von Stahl 1704 seine Promotion ablegte. 1710 erhielt er dort eine außerordentliche Professur. - Alberti war einer der eifrigsten und bedeutendsten Anhänger Stahls. Sein ganzes Streben ging dahin, die animistische Lehre seines Meisters zu verbreiten. Er publizierte mehrere Hundert akademische Gelegenheitsschriften sowie eine Reihe von Lehrbüchern über verschiedene Zweige der Medizin und eine medizinisch-forensische Sammelschrift veröffentlicht. - Alberti war schon zu Lebzeiten sehr bekannt, es gab eine Reihe von graphischen Bildnissen von ihm, das vorliegende ist recht selten (auch nicht bei Diepenbroick).
