No Binding. Condition: Fair. Portrait of Augustine of Hippo. Born 354 AD in Ancient Thagaste (modern-day Souk Ahras), Algeria. Died 430 AD in Hippo Regius (modern-day Annaba), Algeria. Etching and Engraving, c. 1790. Reasonable condition. Some faint creasing, mainly along edges. Paper a bit browned. With some minor spotting/small staining. Verso: Dutch text. Note: with a 4-line poem below the image and printed text regarding the portrayed in Dutch. Note: dimensions reflect the entire leaf. Dimensions: 210 x 118 mm. Augustine of Hippo was Philosopher, Bishop, Theologian, Saint, Bishop of Hippo Regius in Numidia, Church Father, Writer of "On Christian Doctrine", Writer of "Confessions", Writer of "On the Trinity", Writer of "City of God", Patron saint of brewers, Patron saint of printers, Patron saint of theologians, Patron saint of Bridgeport, and Patron saint of Connecticut. c. 1790.
