First edition. Signed by the author. Hardcover. Some light scattered foxing on the endpapers and top edge, otherwise very good in very dustjacket (sterling price intact) with some light soiling and a few tiny professionally closed tears. Porter's third collection of poems, this copy inscribed "For Les Murray, Peter Porter (6:ix.'74)", making it a nice association copy between two major Australian poets.
First edition, first impression, dedication copy with ALS loosely inserted; 8vo; trivial spotting to endpapers, else unmarked internally; publisher's black cloth, gilt lettering to spine, with the unclipped dust-jacket, spine toned, minor dust-soiling, else very good. The dedication copy of Porter's third collection of poetry, inscribed in the dedication page, 'in admiration + affection, Peter NF Porter June 25th., 1969.' The dedicatee was the Scottish poet and novelist George Mann Macbeth. Loosely inserted is an ALS dated Wednesday 25th June, 'Dear George, Here is your dedicatee's copy of my book. I think Scorpion have made it look quite pleasant - the colour + design of the jacket are perhaps appropriate to an elderly liberal backslider. Yours, Peter'.
