The Minerva Press novels comprise items items 619 to 669, described over pp 48-51 and introduced as follows: "The following 50 novels were all issued at the Minerva Press, the famous novel publishing venture of William Lane and later of A. K. Newman. The Minerva Press was the chief purveyor of the circulating library novel (and gothic novel) and the popularity of the fiction issued under its imprint accounts for the great rarity of so many of the novels at the present time. . The novels . came from a Welsh library and contain the signature of the original purchaser, Eliza Giffard, Nerquis, Flintshire.", Another highlighted item, given a full-page description in the catalogue. was 'A Manuscript Seventeenth Century Novel apparently in the hand of John Locke's brother Thomas Locke. The History of Anaxander and Orazia. An Indian Story.c.1660. Original and complete manuscript romances of the seventeenth Century are very rare.
